Audio Clips in Exhibit Design Search

One unique feature of Exhibit Design Search (EDS) is the Audio Clips. It seems a little odd to refer to “audio” as unique, but the internet is dominated by video and text which makes audio-only files unusual. That difference, I would contend, is a difference of distinction. It’s one way that distinguishes your Exhibit Design Search site from other online display websites.

Now, I recognize it’s just one feature. It’s hard to “hang your hat” on one feature. However, and yes I’m probably going a little too far on this, I would maintain that the audio coupled with the “See Photo Examples” adds a personal touch absent from most display sites. Allow me to share a few of my favorites. There are over 80 different audio clips throughout EDS.

I’d enjoy hearing your thoughts about the audio clips, good or bad. Have you ever listened to them with a potential client while on an appointment? What was their reaction?

The ALL NEW Exhibit Design Search

September 18th, 2012 COMMENTS

How new? It’s so new that it still smells like fresh programming code on a dewy spring day. Inhale and savor the crisp scent, my friend. It’s a new day in the land of Exhibit Design Search (EDS).

Introducing Version 3.2. All your favorite features are still there, like photos, specials, exhibit tips, FAQ, and 28 product galleries, but we reorganized it, made it prettier, and added a couple of new features as well. The new EDS will be much easier to navigate, thanks to a layered approach to the graphic design. The important stuff is upfront like images and the design description. The weightier stuff is one click away like accessories, set-up instructions, and graphic dims.

Changes:

  • A Quick Search on the EDS home page. Want a more detailed search, go to the Refine Search option.
  • Don’t want to navigate through the product galleries, then use the 10 x 10, 10 x 20, or “Other” button to go directly to Banner Stands, Table Tops, Portable Hybrids, etc.
  • There’s a new More button. You can go directly to a Trade Show Calendar, see booth regulations, or click on a specific product gallery.
  • The Design Details page is all new. The additional images are next to the main image. There’s a prominent My Gallery button, and the Share This Design, Request a Design, and Send Me More Information are front and forward. All other details are in the Accessories & Options and the Documentation tabs.

Exhibit Design Search

Tour the new EDS on Classic’s website. The distributor versions will take about a week or two to implement given all the format changes. But . . . in no time, you’ll see it on your website. When you do, take a deep breath. Everyone has that new EDS smell. To see EDS on an unbranded site, go to www.exhibit-design-search.com.

Let me know if you have any questions. I will be conducting Exhibit Design Search training via GoToWebinar in about a month.

p.s. A very special thanks to Tony Bennett, our gifted web developer, for his insights and his patience as we slogged through concept after concept and more tweaks than a NASCAR stock car on race day.

Tony Bennett Joins Classic Exhibits to Launch the Web Development Department

June 26th, 2012 COMMENTS

Web Development Department

Tony Bennett

Tony Bennett, an experienced web developer, joins the Classic Exhibits Inc. to launch the Web Development Department. The Web Development Department was formed to assist Classic Distributors with the creation, revision, and maintenance of their websites.

As a designer, Tony has created custom and open source based content management systems dependent on project needs. He has assisted clients with search engine optimization strategies to drive more web traffic to their sites, performed necessary hardware and software maintenance on local web servers, and worked to develop web solutions which best fit the customer’s needs.

Over the past six years, Tony has been instrumental in the creation of Exhibit Design Search, the industry’s largest and most sophisticated exhibit search tool. In addition, he’s worked on over a hundred exhibit-focused websites to create their branded Exhibit Design Search, design new sites, or modify their existing websites. Tony has developed sites for clients in a variety of other industries including dental, boating, fine arts, tattoo, real-estate, automotive, religious non-profit, and health and fitness.

“There’s probably no other web developer who has reviewed and modified more display-related websites than Tony,” says Mel White, VP of Marketing and Business Development.” He’s seen it all, from five page websites to sites with hundreds of pages. His knowledge of web development, multiple programming platforms, and the exhibit industry makes him a valuable and indispensable resource for our distributors. Effective websites are no longer a luxury, but a necessity for every portable, modular, or customer distributor. We are excited to offer this service to our distributor network. ”

According to Tony, “I’m an experienced Web Developer with a passion for the ever changing technology landscape. I’ve been doing web development full-time since 2006. I’m proficient with Photoshop, CSS, HTML, PHP, jQuery, Drupal, etc. As a web developer, I have a good eye for design. Many of you already know me, but to those who don’t, I welcome the chance to show you what Classic can do.”

Contact Tony at tony@classicexhibits.com to learn more about the services available from Classic’s Web Development Department.

New Outdoor Display Products Gallery

March 28th, 2012 COMMENTS

Outdoor Display Products -- BansheeWe love to share good news about Exhibit Design Search.

There’s a brand new gallery in EDS — Outdoor Display Products. This Optima Graphics gallery includes 11 popular outdoor products, such as Banshee, Kapow, Ridgeline, and Valet. There’s even a listing for Event Tents. As with many of the new features in EDS, the gallery was added at the request of several Classic Distributors. And the timing couldn’t be better with Spring at hand and Summer just a few months away. Our thanks to Gary Camarato at Optima for all his hard work on this gallery.

To make room for the Outdoor Displays gallery, we shifted Table Throws to the Banner Stand gallery, which has now been named Banner Stands / Table Throws. It contains the full selection from both categories.

Exhibit Specials and Red Tags

Exhibit Specials in Exhibit Design SearchYou may have noticed a “Red Tag” feature in EDS. About two weeks ago, we made it much easier to find our bimonthly Exhibit Specials. You could always find them in the Exhibit Specials Gallery. We’ve now added a visual “Red Tag” to the image whenever a product is on special. If the special includes a price discount, there will be a strike-through of the original price and a new red-line price. You’ll see the “Red Tag” specials both in the Exhibit Specials gallery and in the original “parent” gallery of the product(s). For example, select Visionary Designs inlines and islands and scroll down. You’ll see quite a few specials. These specials run through May 31.

Eco-Systems Sustainable Designs

Lastly, I want to give a pat on the back to Eco-systems Sustainable. Over the past two months, they have added lots and lots of new trade show display designs to the eSmart Display gallery. If you haven’t visited the gallery recently, I encourage you to take a stroll through their update offerings. Lots of cool designs whether your client wants an eco-friendly display or simply a modern hybrid design. We keep hearing from distributors that your customers are asking, “What’s new and fresh?” Take a look in the eSmart gallery.
