When a Table Top Display Isn’t a Table Top Display

October 24th, 2017 COMMENTS

vk_1292_mainRecently, a client said, “I need a table top display. Do you have one that maximizes counter top space for samples, literature, and business cards?

Like how much space?” we asked.

Well… all of it… if possible.

We love unusual requests. This one came down to three questions:

  1. Did she have a particular design in mind? Yes. She loved the Sacagawea VK-1292.
  2. Did she have a reasonable budget? Yes.
  3. How were we going to design/engineer the VK-1292 to fulfill her requirements?

The answer was to design a table top that looked like a table top but engineer it to be a floor-standing display. At first glance, the “table top” below looks like a contemporary table top. Yet, if you look at it closely, it isn’t sitting on the table.

We are not sure if this is a trend, but it’s a clever solution to frequent concern of table top exhibitors — more space for their stuff. Come to think of it, that’s pretty much a concern for every exhibitor.

Wondering it it’s still portable? Yes. It all packs in (1) portable roto-molded case with wheels.

FAQ — Table Top Displays

October 5th, 2010 COMMENTS

Sacagawea VK-1292

When it comes to trade show displays, Table Tops are all too often the Rodney Dangerfield of exhibits — they just don’t get much respect. That’s unfortunate since table tops are the exhibit and event lifeblood of many for profit and non-profit organizations.

At Classic Exhibits, we offer more table top designs than anyone. Choose the two-sided Intro Fabric Table Top or the contemporary Aero Tension Fabric Table Top. Or, select the always popular Quadro Pop Up or the economical Classic Presentation Briefcase Display.

To select the perfect table top display for your needs, start with these helpful FAQs:

1. I see a variety of table top designs with prices ranging from several hundred dollars to several thousand. What are the differences?

  • Quadro EO and S Pop Ups: Traditional pop up table tops with an expanding metal frame and channel bars. Excellent for any company showing a large graphic(s) on a lightweight, easy-to-assemble display.
  • Classic Presentation: Lightweight 3-panel briefcase table tops with a durable plastic frame, carrying handle, and Velcro compatible fabric. The table top of choice for recruiters, colleges, non-profits, and anyone needing a table top that’s ready to go in 5 seconds or less.
  • Sacagawea: Aluminum extrusion and tension fabric table tops with accessories such as standoff graphics, headers, and shelves. Perfect for just about any situation.
  • Aero Freestanding: Powder-coated aluminum push-button tubes in contemporary shapes with tension fabric and first surface graphics. Hi-tech and pharmaceutical companies love these upscale shapes.
  • Perfect 10: Curved aluminum extrusion table tops with tension fabric. Attached knob assembly. Large, easy-to-assemble, and dramatic.
  • FT (Intro): Two-sided folding fabric panel table tops in varying widths and heights. These are perfect for anyone with an extensive trade show schedule where you expect the table top will take a beating.

2. Are graphics included with the table top displays?

It depends on the system. Aero Table Tops include the larger tension fabric graphic (backwall) but not the direct print graphic. The Quadro Pop Up table tops have a two options — with and without graphics. Sacagawea and Perfect 10 include all graphics. However, graphics are not included on the Intro and and Classic Presentation systems.

3. Will these table top displays fit on a 6 ft and 8 ft table?

With the exception of a few Intro Table Top designs, which are built exclusively for 8 ft. tables, all the tabletops will fit both 6 ft and 8 ft tables.

4. What are my options for Table Throw Covers?

Rumors on the Street

Since this was a short week and many of the people I call on or chat with were on vacation, I opted to write about something a little bit different: Rumors on the Street.

There is a bit of an inside joke with this week’s blog.

Many who know me and or who have known Classic for some time know that Classic’s closest vendor partner is Optima Graphics in St. Louis. Optima provides all the tension fabric graphics for the Magellan Displays, Perfect 10 Displays, Visionary Designs Displays, Aero Table Top Displays and Aero Overhead Structures. This had led to the most asked question and assumed rumor over the past 18 months.

Does Optima and/or Jim Hoffmann own Classic Exhibits? If I told you I field this question once a week, I would be lying. Some weeks, I get that question (or a related comment) up to three times a week. Mr. Hoffmann tells me he gets the same question all the time.

Do you ever wonder where industry rumors and assumptions like this come from? I do. Most are harmless and can even be funny.

In doing my “research” for this blog, I went straight to the source, Jim Hoffmann. Here is how the conversation went . . .

Kevin — “So big bossman . . . I mean Mr. Hoffmann, do you own Classic? You know the same Classic Exhibits where I have worked for 15 years?”

Mr. Hoffman — “I get that question a lot Kev. My answer is simple. In my dreams!  🙂 Now get back to work, I am not paying you to goof off!”

In all seriousness, Classic Exhibits is not owned by Jim Hoffmann or Optima Graphics. We are, however, very close Vendor Partners that share a lot of common customers in the trade show exhibit industry.

So, how about you? Have you heard any good juicy industry rumors that you would like to share? Have you been the subject of any tantalizing rumors recently?

Have a great 4th of July Weekend with your families.

Talk to you next week.

Be Well!
