With the proliferation of video, blogging may seem quaint, even old fashion. And yet, we continue to post blogs 4-6 times per month. So, I asked Kris Asleson, the chief strategist at Flyrise (our SEO partner), why blogging is still important. He prefaced his remarks by saying, “Yes, blogging helps your SEO, but it’s so much more than that.”

#1. It Gives Your Brand a Memory.

Social posts disappear fast. Blogs create a searchable library of what you know, believe, and solve over time. It also gives your best ideas a permanent home instead of letting a strong insight disappear in a meeting, email, or social caption.

#2. It Answers Questions Before Someone Asks Sales.

A strong post can handle the early “Is this for me?” and “Can they help with my situation?” questions while you are not in the room. It also gives prospects something credible to forward to a boss, partner, or committee when they are building the case to hire you.

One blog can become a newsletter, LinkedIn post, sales follow-up, webinar topic, FAQ answer, or short video series. Regular publishing also keeps your site from feeling frozen in time by showing that the business is active and still engaged with what clients are dealing with now.

Clear, useful articles help establish topical depth beyond a homepage and a few service pages. They can also capture demand that you did not know existed, bringing in people searching for specific questions or situations that would never fit naturally on a main service page.

A thoughtful archive signals that you have experience, perspective, and enough familiarity with the problem to explain it clearly. It helps visitors see that there is real depth behind the business, even if the team itself is small.
