Mark…the words you have nightmares about sounds all too familiar not only in business but in the world around us the past several years.

Sherri and Veronica you are spot on, it is the great qualifier in many ways. Does not always mean that they are not going to buy, just that they may not understand what they can actually afford.

Chris, the best ones are actually when you get the 2012 Volkswagon request on a 1970 AMC Gremlin Budget 🙂

I agree with Mike. A prospect without a budget is usually just a waste of everyone’s time.

I always use the car analogy Volkswagen/Rolls Royce.

I had the same thought when I read the first sentence. I can’t even start thinking of a solution if there isn’t a budget. I have nightmares about hearing the words “we don’t have a budget, but if we really like it we’ll find the money”.

Well said. We deal with this scenario all the time. It really lets us know who the serious players are or are not.

I did not! As a designer, working with no budget I’m adrift on a sea of failure. Kevin’s post is rock solid. With a budget in hand our designers will help you and your client win the day.
